Welcome old and new families to our summer sessions! 4 day workshops begin June 25, 1-4:30 pm . All except Moviemaking workshops are for ages 5-12. Workshops begin at 1pm promptly. We break about 2:30 for free swim/play and snack. Swim lessons ( extra charge) are offered by Jordan Wright this year ( Katy is expecting!!) before workshops at 12:15 and after workshops at 4:45 pm and 5:15pm ( advanced) The pool is heated and changing areas are available. Parents may stay on the property during the workshops on the deck, in the pool area or inside ( air conditioned) . Wireless Internet is available.

| Payment
This summer, we will not be offering sibling rates. Instead, we are lowering the one child fee to $130. for all. Some financial aid may become available from gifts and grants for which we are applying. You may request you name be put on the aid list, but we cannot guarantee we can provide it . Payment is due one week before workshop begins. Please submit a $5.00 registration fee for each child,not for each workshop, with yourregistration form Swimming class information will be sent to you if you check that you are interested. WORKSHOPS June 25-28 -Clay Hand Building-Using Self Hardening and Low Fire Clays, children will create masks, creatures, containers, wall hangings and other products of their imagination. Hand finished or colored pieces can go home at end of workshop. Kiln fired pieces such as bowls and containers,will be available at end of July.FULL
July 2- July 6 -Action Figures and Dolls( no class July 4):All kinds of characters from soccer players to gnomes and fairy princesses will be created with wire, clay, fabric, and a variety of found materials.FULL/waiting list only See slide show in gallery!
July 9- July12- Cool Contraptions and Structures (NEW!) This is problem solving workshop of design challenges such as creating a small vehicle to race down a track, build a bridge or tower that can support a specific weight, or assemble ramps for a marble to pass through . Childrens brainstorming and creative imaginations will be put to work with a variety of simple materials. FULL/wait list only July 16-July 19 Soapstone Carving Based on the Inuit Craft of Carving Stone, this workshop offers children an oppurtunity to carve their own small creations in a soft stone with saws, rasps and sandpaper. The final pieces are hard and shiny and very satisfying to touch! FULL/wait list only
July 23-July 26 Printmaking We will make monoprints, make printing blocks, print patterns on T shirts, carve into linoleum and other soft materials to print designs, found rextures and other artwork on hand turned presses . FULL July 27- July 31 Vacation Break
Aug 6- Aug 9 SOAPSTONE CARVING second session
Aug 13-Aug 16 Moviemaking ( stop motion animation- ages 9-13)Each young moviemaker or team of 2 will create characters out of flexible materials, then photograph the movements of those creatures to tell a story. The final product is a short 2-5 minute animated movie that can be posted on Utube or be taken home on a DVD. FULL waiting list only
Aug 13-Aug 16 Fairy and Gnome Habitats( ages 5-8) Explore the nearby woods for ideal sites for fairy houses. Use natural and found materials to build walkways, starirs, little living rooms, pools and porches for the wee folk. Children will create both an indoor( to take home) and outdoor habitat.FULL
